Sold: Memory Hat

Signed high school graduation hat / 1931

Description

Cap signed by high school classmates of the graduating “E.H.S.” class of 1931. The white cotton hat bears the ink signatures of dozens of students, many with great nicknames: Snooks, Chesty, Speed, and Skeezix (among others) all left their mark. “Teapot Dome” is written on the top of the crown (a clever reference to the 1920s bribery scandal that engulfed the Harding administration) as well as the slogan “Square Hats for Square Heads.” (Hat stand not included.)

Part of the “Gate of Memories: Things Forgotten” collection.
