Sold: House of Mirrors

Antique folk art carved soapstone house with mirror shard windows, c. 1900. Hand-carved stone with inset pieces of silvered glass for windows with applied mullions. Roof made of a darker stone and scored to imitate shingles. The stone house seems to speak to human perception: whether looking in or out, we tend to see only reflections of ourselves. Found in New Hampshire.
