Antique bronze clad gilded cat bookends, c. 1920s. Imaginative form with the cats appearing to scratch or climb up the books. Antique patina. Timeless design from the early stages of Art Deco.

Condition

Antique patina with spots on the gilding, a few tiny dents in the bases, one cat wobbles a tad on its base and its pin fastener shows through the back (see photos), the cat arms are slightly bent, but overall the set is in good condition, and displays and functions well for its intended purpose.
