NYC Peddler’s License

Description

Rare NYC “Horse & Wagon” peddler’s license badge. With its 1919 expiration date — well into the automobile age — the piece embodies a last vestige of old New York and its streets of lower Manhattan teeming with horse-driven carts and wagons by merchants hawking everything from fruit to rags. Apparently a rare badge, I was unable to find another example in my research.
