Sold: Ebonised Coffin Stands

Antique Victorian folding ebonised coffin stands, c. 1880s. Inventive and functional design with handsome turnings. A pair of the legs are hinged, which turn to fold flat. Cast iron stretchers ensure sturdiness. Stamped with an 1884 patent date. With a glass or wood top, they would make a perfect (if macabre) coffee table base.
