Hand-painted with steer, cleaver, and saw, this occupational shaving mug illustrated the profession of its owner, Harry Beck, a butcher.

Barbershops used and displayed these personalized shaving mugs, which made for more hygienic individual shaves as well as a means of self-expression f0r their clientele.
