Sold: Shave Sign

Vintage painted wooden Burma-Shave sign fragment, c. 1920s. The sign had been cut down to make a barn shelf, now trimmed to “Shave.” The reverse side has most of a “Burma.” Strings of Burma-Shave signs famously lined American highways in the 1920s and ’30s, spelling out catchy and humorous slogans to sell the iconic shaving cream. A good reminder to hang by the bathroom sink for that stubbled man in your household.
