Sold: Skating Sign

Skating sign / painted sheet metal / c. 1890s

Antique hand-painted “Skating” sign, likely on zinc, c. late nineteenth century. Great vibrant colors and Victorian lettering. Given the ticket instructions, the rink was likely part of a gated carnival-like attraction, perhaps a boardwalk destination like Luna Park at Coney Island or, who knows, even the World’s Fair.

Good antique condition with relatively minor surface wear.
