Shooting Glasses

Amber eyeglasses / tinted glass & copper  / c. 1880s

Antique Victorian tinted amber spectacles used for shooting and hunting, c. late 19th century. These eyeglasses are acid etched around the edges, creating a clear circle at the center which sharpens and directs the gaze while the color has the effect of brightening the landscape. Unusual and high quality copper alloy frame. Both a sculptural objects and wearable eccentric glasses.

Very good antique condition, with a couple of tiny black marks on lenses.
