Unusual trade card made by a New York City photographer to advertise his Madison Avenue studio and showcase a photo collage of his work. “Wilhelm’s Photographic Art Studio” offered “Artistic Portraits at Moderate Prices” enhanced by pastels and watercolors and even printed on porcelains and ivory.
This studio is provided with two large skylights, and is fully equipped with the newest improvements of all modern appliances for photography, including the greatest variety of artistic backgrounds, curtains and elegant furniture.
A rare piece of New York ephemera and glimpse into the Victorian photographer’s studio.
