Sold: Miniature Copper Buckets
Three miniature buckets / copper & brass / c. 1910s
Trio of antique Arts & Crafts era hand-hammered miniature copper and brass metal buckets, c. turn of the 20th century. Certainly from the hand of a master metalsmith, the buckets are detailed down to the graining in the staves and nails in the hoops. If it wasn’t for their rich, aged copper luster, one might take them for trompe l’oeil. These may be small, be they have serious heft — the maker did not skimp on materials here. Original intent unknown, but perhaps put them to use as miniature planters or party utensil holders. Or, let them carry their own weight as extraordinary examples of the metalsmith’s art.
