Description
Regency watercolor portrait of a young woman, c. 1820s or ’30s. The painting is unusually cool in tonality, with blue as the predominant color. Either intentional or the result of “fugitive” pigments faded over time, the effect in either case is stunning.
Original ebonised frame with inset brass oval and acorn hanging loop.
Condition
Minor losses and toning. Beautifully aged. Not examined outside of frame.
