Collection of carpet bowls / lignum vitae & composite / c. mid- to late-19th century

Collection of 21 antique wooden carpet balls (or “bowls”) from the English game popular in the latter half of the 19th century. Beautiful and sculptural forms, with intricate carved details and etched escutcheons. At least two to three full sets among the lot. Handsomely displayed in a large planter or on an upper molding around the perimeter of a room.

Very good antique condition.
