Sold: Lemon Syrup Bottle

Lemon syrup bottle / aqua glass / c. 1870s

Antique “Excelsior Lemon Syrup” bottle with colorful embossed patriotic paper label indicating Brunswick, Maine origin, c. 1870s. Extraordinary time-warp condition — found in a Maine farmhouse, the 150 year old bottle must have been tucked away forgotten in a pantry since the late 19th century. The colors and gilding on its elaborate paper label are as bright and crisp as the day they were printed. The bottle itself is a beautiful pale aqua color and full of bubbles. A remarkable survivor and a rare advertising bottle.
