Sold: Leg Cane
Walking stick with lady’s leg handle / bone and wood / c. 1850s
The bone handle of this suggestive mid-nineteenth century cane is carved in the shape of a lady’s stockinged leg. Lightweight in construction, the cane could have been carried occasionally as a waggish accessory or relied on as a daily source of physical support. In either case, touching the bare, disembodied leg is required by design. Includes custom wooden base for display which matches the black finish of the shaft.
Condition
Very good antique condition with minor paint loss on the shaft.
