House Mold

House-form ice cream mold / pewter / c. 1900

Description

Unusual mold used for making ice cream taking the form of a house. Detailed down to the shingling and shutters, the open hollow mold creates an optical illusion of a three-dimensional building. Closed, the house takes an abstract, sculptural form as if encased in ice.
