Description
Sailor-made folk art dagger with a fish bone (possibly swordfish) blade and fine knot work handle with braided bolsters. By the extraordinary quality of work, the piece is all likelihood nineteenth century. This sailor’s stiletto could do some serious damage — to your mail, perhaps, as a letter opener.
Provenance from a Kittery, Maine estate.
Condition
Very good.
