Large copper 19th century printer’s block of an eagle with a fill-in-the-blanks banner in his beak. Used as a heading in newspaper articles or advertisements, the patriotic eagle’s empty slogan could be changed to suit the aims of the editor or advertiser.

Very good antique condition. Drilled hole on backside for flush-mount hanging on wall.
