Large antique late 19th century crank studio easel. 1880s patent date and Boston maker’s plate. Elegant utilitarian design. Plenty of splashes of old paint, likely from the brush of an accomplished painter given the professional scale of the piece. The easel cranks up and down and adjusts to hold different size canvases. It is vertically fixed and the angle is set. Ideal for displaying old or painting new work.
