Description

Hand-carved pair of dolphins in high relief attributed to figurehead and eagle carver John Haley Bellamy, who worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine.  These dolphins likely adorned the cabin of a sailing ship. Ex collection of Nathaniel Figures, a noted Bellamy scholar and collector.

 

Condition

Handsome aged patina. Mounted for wall hanging.
