Folk art bathtub foot bust / painted cast iron claw and ball tub foot / c. 1900

One of the most whimsical and resourceful folk art portraits I’ve seen: Primitive painted bust of a woman using an overturned foot of a cast iron clawfoot tub, c. late 19th or early 20th century. Fun and thrifty American folk art at its very best.

Timeworn antique condition with old patina with some paint loss and other wear.
