Sold: Art Nouveau Bronze Candelabrum
Antique Art Nouveau bronze candelabra c. 1900. Unmarked, but superb quality and elegant design indicates a master craftsman and designer at the level of a Hector Guimard, Victor Horta or Henry Van de Velde. Beautiful verdigris bronze patina in a wonderful wavy form as if the piece is seen through underwater currents. Hand-worked and possibly one of a kind. Likely made in continental Europe at the height of Jugenstil design. A stunning example of Art Nouveau metalwork in an inventive and timeless form.
