Creeping in the Park

Pair of toy Barclay painted metal figures on a park bench, c. 1930s. The older gentleman in gray appears to have spotted the young lady at a distance, and has just sat down — much to her dismay. With his beady eyes casting her awkward sideways glances, he struggles to make his rigid posture more casual and purses his lips to stutter something about the unusually cold weather for April. Finding the farthest edge of the park bench, she adopts her don’t-you-even-think-of-talking-to-me expression, and silently curses out her boyfriend for never showing up on time.

Excellent vintage condition with a few tiny chips in the paint.
