Antique bronze clad statuette of a female nude in a balancing act, c. 1920s. With her whimsical pose and aesthetic, she embodies qualities of early Art Deco design and has an uncanny lifelike and precarious presence. In a pirouette frozen in motion, she balances balls on her foot and hand, and despite her still form she nevertheless seems to visibly quaver on tiptoe. The figure has a beautiful patina and is in excellent condition. A charming piece of sculpture balancing delight and suspense.
Excellent antique condition, with minor small marks from handling and an antique patina.
